Although based on the traditional watering can, the open-topped form of the Vǻllö allowed it to be produced in a single injection mold and also made it stackable. The result is a design of grace and beauty—with its upward-sweeping spout and ergonomic handle—functional yet playful in its range of bright colors.

Mulder was trained at the Design Academy at Eindhoven and worked as an intern in the Design Department at the Scandinavian furniture company IKEA, whose simple and inexpensive everyday products are sold throughout the world.
